We can cater to most online meeting platforms. Please set up a meeting and send an invite or invites to the interpreter(s), depending on the platform.
We would appreciate it, if we could test the connection and settings with you in advance.
For a consecutive interpretation for up to 2 hours, you require a single interpreter (with a 5-minute break after an hour), but the meeting time will be at least doubled, because the interpretation takes as much as all the speakers’ time put together. On the other hand, in the case of simultaneous interpretation, the meeting time will not be extended (and no need for a break) at the cost of requiring two interpreters.
Please judge the interpretation format after weighing the cost and time with an estimate.
More detailed the information of your meeting is, more accurate the assessment of the interpretating setting can be. For example, if all the presentation material is provided bilingually, the meeting is proceeded in the un-interpreted language, and only occasional remarks are made in the interpreted language, a single simultaneous interpreter may be able to handle it.
In online meetings, there are environmental factors that the interpreters cannot control. There might be various problems such as the participants’ internet connection (soft voice of the speaker, ambient noise, forgetting to mute, screen freeze…), sudden malfunction of devices such as PCs, devices, microphones, and headsets. Since it is not face-to-face, it is often impossible to confirm things, and it is difficult for the interpreters to help each other as they are connecting from different places. We use microphones and earphones with the clearest sound quality possible, and prepare for redundant lines, backup devices and consumables for unforeseen circumstances. However, please understand that if the meeting is interrupted due to unavoidable reasons beyond our range of control and our best effort, we shall not be held liable.
